Together for More Well-being: World Diabetes Day 2024

Every 14 November, World Diabetes Day shines a spotlight on diabetes mellitus through a global campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation. With each year’s campaign focusing on a specific theme, 2024 centres on well-being. In line with this year’s theme of well-being, MELISSA strives to bring innovation to diabetes treatment with AI based applications which provide tailored treatment and care based on individual needs, habits and progression – enhancing well-being for people with diabetes in everyday life. Patient-specific and intelligent recommendation models based on AI may potentially automatise current practices and make them more efficient and patient-friendly.

This year MELISSA has partnered with two EU-funded diabetes research projects REDDIE & MuSiC4Diabetes to raise awareness in a collaborative campaign. While each project focuses on unique methods, contributing different approaches to diabetes research all have one common goal: improving the daily lives and experiences of people living with diabetes. Take a look at what each of the projects work on and how they contribute to the well-being of people living with diabetes.
